The Museum of Central Pomerania in Słupsk is home to the world’s largest and most comprehensive collection of works by Stanisław Ignacy Witkiewicz, known as Witkacy. With over 260 pieces—ranging from pastel portraits and oil paintings to drawings and archival materials—the collection spans all periods of the artist’s career, including his time with the Formist movement and his renowned “Portrait Firm” from the interwar period.
Since 2019, the Witkacy collection has been exhibited in the White Granary (Biały Spichlerz), a revitalized 19th-century building that offers a modern and engaging space for showcasing the artist’s legacy. The permanent exhibition provides an in-depth look at the life and work of one of Poland’s most original and provocative artists.
In addition to the Witkacy collection, the museum’s diverse holdings include historical and contemporary art, regional ethnographic artifacts, and exhibitions on the cultural and historical heritage of Central Pomerania. Housed in several historic buildings across Słupsk, including the Pomeranian Dukes’ Castle and the Castle Mill, the Museum of Central Pomerania offers a rich and immersive cultural experience for all visitors.
